Big battle today right before grocery buying about the right way to load knives into the dishwasher. A compact still pivotal moment in our shelter-at-household life. Very last April, he was unresponsive in terminal treatment, most cancers getting metastasized to his brain. By his bedside I done the Seders on the two requisite evenings. He did not respond, apart from for at the time for the duration of the next Seder. They say listening to is the past feeling to go. As I sang his favorite track from the Haggadah, Stanley’s tears were being a potent demonstration of this becoming so. He died 23 several hours right after the second Seder, not seeking to miss both one. — Zelda R. Stern

Two young people afterwards, with extra gray hair than I at any time imagined, we come to feel as unsure about lifestyle as we did again then. Now, in our too-large dwelling in Harare, Zimbabwe, we are not keeping hands (my husband is quarantining soon after journey). I glimpse at him across the home his common deal with and type eyes appear to be to say, “We’ve got this. You really don’t have to venture into the not known by yourself.” — Allyson Gardner
