Former President Invoice Clinton, recalling the sex scandal that led to his impeachment in 1998, states in a new documentary sequence that his extramarital affair with Monica S. Lewinsky was a way of “managing my anxieties.”
The four-portion documentary series, “Hillary,” which was released on Friday on Hulu, focuses on Hillary Clinton’s life, her relationship to Mr. Clinton and her unsuccessful campaign for president in 2016.
In the collection, Mr. Clinton, 73, is asked by the director, Nanette Burstein, why he engaged in an affair with Ms. Lewinsky, then a White House intern, and regardless of whether he weighed the risks.
“Nobody sits down and thinks, ‘I feel I’ll consider a truly irresponsible chance,’” Mr. Clinton states. “It’s bad for my loved ones, undesirable for my country, poor for the persons who function with me.”
Mr. Clinton says that he was underneath enormous strain, but that his actions ended up inexcusable.

Mr. Clinton at initial denied getting sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky through a videotaped deposition in a sexual harassment lawsuit introduced from him by Paula Corbin Jones, a former Arkansas point out worker who claimed that Mr. Clinton experienced exposed himself to her and propositioned her in a resort home in 1991, when he was governor.
